Kitsap Quarry Operations
Kitsap Quarry is owned by Ueland Tree Farm and operated by McCallum Rock Products. Both companies are family owned businesses with a commitment to doing the right thing for customers and the community.
McCallum has 30+ years of experience in the rock business in Western Washington, including many years doing the drilling and blasting at Kitsap Quarry prior to assuming overall responsibility for the quarry in late 2024.

History
Kitsap Quarry has provided millions of tons of rock products to the Kitsap community since it was opened in 1963 by Tom Boren. In 2012, Ueland Tree Farm purchased the quarry from Rock Enterprises, who owned the quarry for nearly a decade after purchasing it from Richard Martin.
Over the 60+ years it has operated, Kitsap Quarry’s basalt rock has been used to build roads, bridges, hospitals, building foundations, driveways, retaining walls, and for many other uses.
More recently, under the Ueland’s ownership, the quarry has moved heavily into recycling. Taking advantage of its central location, Kitsap Quarry now collects and recycles clean fill dirt, asphalt, and concrete. This process converts one construction project’s waste into another’s raw material, reducing the carbon footprint of both projects.
In 2022, as the permitted reserves at the original quarry site were running low, Kitsap Quarry opened a new upper quarry on Ueland Tree Farm west of railroad tracks.
Kitsap Quarry continues to have the largest permitted reserves of any quarry in Kitsap County with 20 million tons of proven and permitted basalt and gravel reserves.
